Welcome to Barkley's Printroom, which is proudly owned and operated by Brendan Berryman. Who is passionate about the journey of photography and the artful process of creating fine art printing

Being nestled in the Southern Forest and Valley, and based in Manjimup. There are endless photographic opportunities just a stone's throw from Manjimup, with nearby enchanting towns, lush forests, and beautiful beaches.

Plus, we are only a few hours away from the renowned Margaret River and its amazing wine region! Australia’s South West truly feels like a world away from the everyday!

My journey into Fine Art Printing, learning to understand the art and process, started in June 2023. Yet, having my images printed by a certified Ilford print partner and Hahnemühle gold-certified printer started in 2019. My knowledge and experiences have continued to grow, and hopefully, one day, maybe soon. Barkley's Printroom will be recognised for the craft of fine art giclee photographic printing and art reproduction. Well, that is the plan: to be the best we can be in advice, service, and printing for our customers!

We envision a studio offering fine art photographic printing and space to showcase beautiful art. Picture a community hub where you can enjoy coffee and cake while exploring delightful artworks! Currently, we're operating from our home office but eagerly await the chance to make our dream a reality. We encourage in-person bookings, emails, and calls to discuss your printing needs. Join us and create your success along the way!

I’m also diving further into the fantastic world of Photography and Fine Art Printing by becoming a Photographic Judge.

In January 2026, I embarked on an exciting journey to become certified with the Australian Photographic Judges Association. I have joined, and cannot wait to work through the stages. Then, becoming qualified and providing insightful photography, image feedback and critique sessions.

Plus, I’m currently reading "Photography Judging" by Tom Ang. My goal? To elevate my skills in photography, fine art giclee printing, and photo critiquing to new heights! One day to become a Master Photographic Judge.

A little backstory about me and photography.  Maybe like you, I have used a variety of cameras over the years, ranging from Kodak film, point-and-shoot, and then I moved on to digital DSLR cameras

In 2007, when living in New Zealand, I became more serious about photography when a company I worked for sponsored the New Zealand Porsche GT3 Racing Series

In 2009, I followed the series around the South Island and documented the races and events on a DVD with still images and music. The DVD was then used at head office for promotional and sponsorship events, which was a great experience (using a Kodak point and shoot)

In 2013, I bought my first Canon DSLR body and added a couple of lenses to my kit, and away I went. My Photography and Photographer journey moved forward in a much bigger way

Living in New Zealand, the land of awesome images around every corner. It was a fantastic place to live and to expand my photography experience, knowledge, and image gallery

In late 2016, I returned to Australia, where I lived on the Surf Coast in Victoria. Torquay is my hometown, it's an area where I have my family history and connections

Living close to iconic locations, including Torquay, Bell's Beach, Point Addis, Jan Juc, The Otways, and Great Ocean Road

“There are opportunities most days” When I’m out and about, enjoying the world we live in, I’m always seeking to capture the ultimate image

In some ways, chasing the perfect image is like chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow—it’s never-ending!

Every day is a new opportunity for the growth and development of my photography techniques

I believe in the Japanese Wabi-Sabi Principle: imperfections can be seen as the perfections we seek, or perfection is found within the imperfections we see (that's my take on that)

In September 2022, I relocated to Western Australia, Perth, then to Katanning and now reside in Manjimup in the South-West of Western Australia

My interest in fine art printing goes back many years, and I decided in June 2023 to buy my first Canon Prograph printer, a Pro300 and have since purchased a Canon Pro-1100 A2 professional printer (Late 2024)

My ultimate goal is to capture/produce/print what is classified as fine art photography and be recognised for my work in both disciplines. Continually grow as a photographer and fine art printer, venture through the world, take only photographs and leave footprints without causing undue damage to the environment we live in

Three different photos tell a story

Selling my photographic art, and for me, it is not about having the same as others have. I am always looking for uniqueness in that special item. The online world is full of images; in many ways, they all look the same, with everyone trying to shoot from the same location and trying to outdo each other. I don't do that!

Considering something different to hang on your walls, an art piece that no one else has. Please get in touch!

Because, I may have something unique and unique to you
